Cooking through illustration’ workshop engages children in Helsinki in cooking and invites to learn about Mexican cuisine through illustration.
Get more comfortable in the kitchen, by opening a magical door through drawing and learn other ways of cooking through different cultures like the Mexican food tradition.
Illustration workshop developed through the gestures of cooking hosted by the Helsinki based designer and illustrator Mariana Núñez Sánchez.
The workshop not only aims to familiarize children with cooking, but also attempts to introduce them to Mexican traditional cuisine. Mariana Núñez Sánchez has a special passion for illustration and animation.
As a designer, she is mainly interested in the cultural significance of cooking and the power meals have to gather people fostering ideas exchange. She feels creativity is a catalyst for change and a vital element for children to develop.
The workshop is a part of a series of public events of Neo Norte 3.0 exhibition in Myymälä2 Gallery, Helsinki.
Neo Norte 3.0 (New North) is an exhibition where a Latin American collective gathers to present the South as the New North. Neo Norte been presented in Santiago, Chile and in London.
Now for the third time it is showcased in Helsinki from September to October 2021.
