What’s the Use of Intersectionality? – Curated by Feminist Culture House
Date and time30.4 – 6.6.2021
Through a number of new commissioned artworks in the windows, courtyard, and flagpoles of Stoa Cultural Centre, curatorial collective Feminist Culture House and their collaborators explore different ways to communicate and encounter intersectional feminism.
The flagpoles in Stoa’s courtyard exhibit a rotating group of artworks which represent the artists’ understandings of intersectional feminism. Nearby, a stage backdrop features an artwork by Jade Lönnqvist—an image their younger self would have wished to see in a public place.
Five discussions on collectivity and intersectional feminism will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of Feminist Culture House. Visual notes of the discussions by the artists can also be viewed on the FCH website. Live streams at:
6 May 1–2pm: Feminist Culture House in conversation with Bolanle Tajudeen, Founder of Black Blossoms, with visual notes by artist Paola Jalili
13 May 2–3pm: Feminist Culture House in conversation with Suhyun (Sonia) Choi, Co-Founder of By Us For Us (BUFU), with visual notes by artist Apila Pepita.
