Come enjoy exciting crafts workshops and a theatre performance named “Kadonneen lankakerän arvoitus” (The Mystery of the Lost Ball of Yarn). The event also includes a fun-filled circus workshops for practicing circus tricks under the tutelage of professionals and an early-evening performance of children’s poetry called “Äkkivääriä flamingon sääriä” (Crooked Legs of Flamingos) by reciter Eero Ojala. Bring some change to purchase mulled wine and Christmas pastries.

In addition to fun crafts, the day includes a variety of enjoyable entertainment – descriptions below.

– Neo embarks on a journey through an imaginary world to find an answer to the question plaguing his mind: What will he become when he grows up? However, first he must help his friend Korvapuusti. The pair wind up meeting a cavalcade of interesting people, ultimately coming face to face with the mean Doctor Höpönpöpönpömppä and his henchman Kalle Kantelupukki. Could they have something to do with Korvapuusti’s problem? Join our heroes in exploring the imaginary world and help them find solutions to their problems! Work group members: Virpi Valkeinen, Valtteri Rossi, Janette Hirvonen and Aapeli Hämäläinen.

- Äkkivääriä flamingon sääriä is a production by Finland’s Reciters’ Union, which was created by Finland’s leading reciters Eero Ojala and Jussi Lankoski. The performance premiered in 2018 and has since then toured the country in day care centres, libraries and cultural facilities. In the spring of 2021, Ojala’s performance came second in the national monologue competition, only a point away from the first position. The performance has been compiled from Laura Ruohonen’s poetry books for children Allakkapullakka, Yökyöpelit and Tippukivitapaus. It is a raucously funny ode to friendship, fun, rebellion and gastronomy.

– In Sirkus Magenta’s fun and engaging circus workshop, you can try out a variety of juggling and balancing equipment and perform tricks with friends and your own. Practising circus tricks is also an enjoyable activity for the whole family. The workshop is suitable for all ages and requires no prior skills. Come join the circus!
