Description

Visual artist Pekka Niskanen and poet Mohamed
Sleiman Labat built a Sahrawi tent from fabrics imported from the Sahrawi refugee camps in Sahara. The Sahrawi tent is a symbol of negotiations between multi-layered issues and different ways of thinking. The tent highlights the
Sahrawi’s ways and practices of resolving problems.

In addition to the PhosFATE group of artists, discussions in the Sahrawi nomad tent will be attended by world politicians and Baltic Sea and climate researchers. The public is also welcome to join the discussion.

The event is a part of Uniarts Helsinki’s fourth
Research Pavilion, taking place in Hietsun Paviljonki and its surroundings in
Helsinki 5.6.–29.8.2021.
