Independence Day 2021
Finland is celebrating the Independence Day on 6th December which is the declaration day of Finland's independence from Russia in 1917.
Official Independence Day festivities will start with the raising of the Finnish flag on Tähtitorninmäki Hill.
The traditional torchlight procession by students will stroll along the streets in the city centre and wreaths will be placed on war graves.
In the evening, the Presidential Independence Day reception will be held for invited guests at the Presidential Palace.
