Description

Dancers Clyde Wilder (USA) and Malin Grahn-Wilder (Fin) invite the audience on a swinging journey to the African roots of jazz dance.

Along the way they discover various interconnections between dance, nature and culture. Dance movements can bring good luck to the harvest or describe animals. There is even a dance about a lizard climbing a tree! The audience is invited to an African dance celebration with its exciting and colorful masquerades, after which the journey continues to the USA and through the golden age of jazz. The audience does not have to sit still: the performers need their help in creating rhythms and dancing along! The performance includes live music.

- mtarget group: grades 1-6
- language: english and swedish
- duration: 60 min.

The performance has been sponsored by Svenska Kulturfonden and Centret för konstfrämjande. Performance for school-classes free of charge but pre-booking obligatory @ Kultus.fi. Org. Stoa
