ONLINE | Nexo Creative Writing – Creative writing workshop
Date and timeThu 22.4.2021, at 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sessions are composed of 4 writing sessions and 3 reading sessions. In the writing sessions, participants learn and practice the basics of creative writing.
Each session has a theme and through it the group explores ways of connecting with their writing.
Material is prepared in advance, so participants will receive a sufficient amount of exercises by which creative writing techniques will be practiced. In the reading sessions, we encourage the group to read aloud the texts they are working on. By doing this, participants get proper feedback from other fellow writers, and learn to share their creation in public with others. Participants also receive prompts to work on, and space and quiet time is provided to work on individual texts.
As the workshop advances the group selects together a theme, and based on it a fanzine is produced: participants have the opportunity to see their work in print, and the groupnpresents a final product that can be shared outside the workshop.
At the end of the sessions, we organise a final public reading in Caisa, where the texts produced for the fanzine are read aloud.
The group is also alive in social media, throughout the duration of the workshop and in between groups: sharing the texts produced for the fanzine gives another platform for the participants to share their texts, and visibility to the group in general.
