HJK Helsinki is the biggest and the most successful Finnish football club with many Finnish Championship, Finnish Cup and Finnish League Cup titles. As the name implies, HJK is based in Helsinki.

Formerly HJK had ice hockey, bowling, field hockey, handball, figure skating and bandy sections. In 1972 the hockey section separated in to independent club.

Many of Finland's internationally most successful players have played for HJK before moving abroad, including Jari Litmanen, Aki Riihilahti, Mikael Forssell, Teemu Pukki and Alexander Ring. Also, HJK is the country's biggest club in youth football with some 2000 young players in several different youth teams all over Helsinki region.
